Missing London

As many of you already know, fashion month is almost over.  After painstakingly stalking the bloggers in London this week, an overwhelming feeling of jealously infiltrated my brain.  I visited London for the first time this past Christmas and fell in love.  These are a few of my snaps from the trip, I know I had a smudge on my lens for the first couple days.  Enjoy!

90s Cartoons at NYFW

An awesome website called Swagger New York teamed up with super talented Italian designer, Michele Moricci, to create these amazing illustrations of our favorite 90s cartoons attending NYFW shows!  The results are funny, inspiring, nostalgic, and definitely fashion forward. Daria, Angelica, and Lisa Simpson aren't little girls anymore…

Blue Jean Baby

I know, I have to add more color into my wardrobe, I have been told this for years.  This is my version of color addition... blue denim.  I mean don't get me wrong, I love a good dark jean, and light chambray shirt, so together it is a match made in denim heaven.  Blue jeans are a staple in my closet, and I was ecstatic to find a high waisted pair that fit snug, have a nice small ankle, and a bit of stretch.  I was so ecstatic that I decided to make up a dance for them.

Lip Service

If there is one trend I am fully on board with, it is the whole dressed up sporty look that is sweeping fashion right now.  Give me an excuse to wear sweatpants, and make them look fashionable, and I will take the challenge... whether or not Karl Lagerfeld agrees.  I think it is a great transition into early fall a comfy sweat pant with a slinky heel, and structured vest, love the juxtaposition of it all.

Boyfriends & Birks

There are few things I like more than a slouchy pant.  You have probably heard me mention my coveted Detroit Boyfriend Jeans from Gypsy Warrior in the past.  The are so comfy, and I love rolling them up into a crop or keeping them long when it gets a bit chilly out.  I also have a new appreciation for Birkenstocks, though I prefer them in all black or all white.  When I found these black patent leather ones I had to scoop them up!  Living in a walking city, I am always on the hunt for flat comfy, yet stylish shoes, and while Birks are a much debated shoe, I will stand behind mine as long as Celine continues to produce furry flat sandals.

Trend Spotting: Birkenstocks

I understand that these shoes are not for everyone, but lately I have been so into the comfort trend of sneakers with dresses, and now flat sandals with everything, being a city dweller and all.  One of my fav foot trends is the Celine inspired sandals.  While I will never be able to afford the Celines and really don’t want to rock a fur lined sandal in 90 degree weather, I can totally get down with some updated Birkenstocks.  The all white, and black patent leather are my favorite, and I am determined to show everyone in the office that Birks can indeed be stylish, and I got them on sale so whatever.
